Returns, Refunds & Withdrawal Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

This policy applies to distance orders placed by consumers on lagarde-photo.com. It supplements the terms and conditions of sale and does not restrict the customer’s statutory guarantees.

1. Seller’s identity

Jean Christophe Lagarde — Sole trader (Entreprise individuelle / EI)
200 rue de la Croix Nivert
75015 Paris, France
Paris Trade and Companies Register (RCS): 480 235 332
Intra-community VAT number: FR0G480235332

For enquiries, use the website contact form.

2. Withdrawal period

Unless a statutory exception applies, consumer customers have fourteen calendar days from receipt of the product to exercise their right of withdrawal without giving a reason.

If an order contains several products delivered separately, this period starts on receipt of the last product. If the period ends on a Saturday, Sunday, public holiday or non-working day, it is extended to the next working day.

3. Products covered

The right of withdrawal applies in particular to:

  • products held in stock;
  • prints ordered in the standard sizes, papers and finishes offered in the catalogue, without any personalisation requested by the customer.

The fact that a standard print is produced after an order is placed does not, by itself, remove the right of withdrawal.

4. Products excluded from the right of withdrawal

Under Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal cannot be exercised for products made to the customer’s specifications or clearly personalised. This may include:

  • a bespoke size not offered in the catalogue;
  • a finish or framing specially made at the customer’s request;
  • an inscription, personalised dedication or other individual modification requested by the customer.

Any exclusion applying to a personalised product is clearly stated before the order is confirmed. It never removes the customer’s rights if the product is defective, damaged or does not conform to the order.

5. How to exercise the right of withdrawal

The customer must notify their decision before the fourteen-day period expires, by an unequivocal statement or using the model form below.

Exercise my right of withdrawal online

The request must identify the customer and the order concerned. Once the online request has been submitted, an acknowledgement of receipt is sent without delay to the email address provided.

6. Returning products

After notifying withdrawal, the customer must send back or return the product within the following fourteen days to:

Jean Christophe Lagarde
200 rue de la Croix Nivert
75015 Paris, France

The product must be properly protected and, if possible, accompanied by the order number. Tracked delivery with insurance covering the product’s value is recommended, particularly for photographic prints.

The customer may handle the product only as necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning. They may be liable for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what would be allowed in a shop.

7. Return costs

When exercising the right of withdrawal, the customer bears the direct cost of returning the product.

If the product received is defective, damaged during transport or does not conform to the order, the necessary return costs are not borne by the customer. Contact the seller before returning it to obtain appropriate instructions.

8. Refunds

Following a valid withdrawal, the seller refunds the amounts paid, including the initial delivery costs for the standard delivery method offered, within fourteen days of being informed of the customer’s decision.

The refund may be withheld until the product is received back or proof of its dispatch has been received, whichever occurs first.

Refunds are made using the same payment method as the order, unless the customer expressly agrees to another method and without additional fees. Any extra amount paid for a delivery method more expensive than the standard method offered is not refunded.

9. Damaged, defective or non-conforming products

If a product arrives damaged, has a defect or does not match the order, contact the seller as soon as possible through the contact form. Provide the order number, describe the issue and attach useful photographs where possible.

A solution in accordance with the applicable statutory guarantees will be offered: bringing the product into conformity, replacement, a price reduction or a refund, depending on the situation and the conditions provided by law.

10. Exchanges

Exchanges for a change of preference are not automatic. To choose another product or standard size, the customer may exercise their right of withdrawal where it applies, then place a new order. This does not apply to replacement of a defective or non-conforming product.

11. Withdrawal form

You may submit your request using the form below, or use the paper model form.
